Our Oral Health Test analyzes the bacteria in your dog’s mouth to assess their oral health. Poor oral health can cause bad breath, gum disease, tooth loss, and other health issues.

DoggyBiome™ KittyBiome™ Oral Health Test is an easy, at-home test that analyzes the bacteria in your dog's and cat's mouth and helps you evaluate the effectiveness of an oral health intervention, such as tooth brushing, oral prebiotics, or dental cleanings.

  • Provides a report to help you understand the current status of your dog's and cat's oral microbiome.
  • Allows you to compare your dog’s and cat's oral bacterial community before and after an oral health intervention, such as a dental cleaning.
  • Tells you whether your current oral health regimen is working or an appointment with your veterinarian is recommended.

How it works?

  • Wearing the provided gloves, use one of the included swabs to brush along the entire outer top portion of your dog’s gumline. Then, brush along the entire outer bottom portion of your dog’s gumline.
  • Repeat, swabbing back and forth along the top and bottom gumlines for 60 seconds.
  • Place the swab back into the tube and securely cap it.
  • Register your dog's or cat’s sample. Create an account at app.animalbiome.com, complete your dog's or cat’s profile, and enter the six-character ID code listed on the front of your instruction guide.
  • Then, place the tube into the provided return mailer and send it back to AnimalBiome.
  • We analyze your sample. Using DNA sequencing, we identify the types and proportions of all the bacteria found in your dog's or cat’s salivia sample and compare it to our healthy reference set.
  • Receive your report. In about 2-3 weeks (from receipt of sample), you will receive an email notification when your test results are ready. Access your dog's and cat’s report via our online Pet Portal. The report will provide actionable information for you to discuss with your veterinarian.

Standard Package Kit

OVERVIEW FOR STANDARD PACKAGE KIT :

  1. Purchase the test kit package (Standard) via our website.
  2. You will receive the kit within 3-4 working days.
  3. Collect your salivia samples and put them into the sample tubes. You can find instructions on how to go about collecting the salivia samples via the QR code guide included with the kit or you find the instructions below.
  4. Register your sample by creating an account with your animal's profile at app.animalbiome.com
  5. Place sample tubes in the provided bubble mailer bag.
  6. Place the bubble mailer bag into the provided (yellow) envelope.
  7. Make arrangements with your own preferred courier vendor and send it to the address given - Animal Biome, 400 29th St. Ste 101, Oakland CA 94609.
  8. Upon receiving your samples, the results will be sent to you via email in 2-3 weeks time.
  9. Upon receiving your results, if you need further clarifications on the report, click the link here to schedule a 15min international phone consult appointment with AnimalBiome team to discuss on your results, do note that it is based on USA timing.

Expedited Package Kit

OVERVIEW FOR EXPEDITED PACKAGE KIT :

  1. Purchase the test kit package (Expedited) via our website.
  2. You will receive the kit within 1-2 working days.
  3. Collect your salivia samples and put into the sample tubes. You can find instructions on how to go about in collecting the salivia samples via the QR code guide included with kit.
  4. Register your sample by creating an account with your animal's profile at app.animalbiome.com
  5. Place sample tubes in the provided bubble mailer bag.
  6. Place the bubble mailer bag into the provided (yellow) envelope then place the (yellow) envelope into the provided FEDEX envelope.
  7. Follow the link sent to your WhatsApp to arrange for FedEx pick up once your FedEx envelope is ready for collection.
  8. Your samples will be reaching AnimalBiome testing facilities within 5-7 working days upon collection.
  9. Upon receiving your samples, the results will be sent to you via email in 2-3 weeks time.
  10. Upon receiving your results, if you need further clarifications on the report, please visit the link here to schedule a 15min international phone consult appointment with AnimalBiome team to discuss on your results, do note that it is based on USA timing.

How to send your samples via VPost?

For Standard package, you will need to send out your samples yourself with your preferred courier vendor. Here we recommend you the cheapest route that you can send in your samples.

The cheapest route will be VPost. We recommend the international registered service which cost $11.90 SGD. You can find the step by step into guiding you how to send via VPost below.

However do note that what we guided you is to declare a inaccurate actual form of the item sent, in order to bypass the custom clearance in the USA, as Saliva Sample is kind of considered a restricted items under VPost rules, therefore there's still a little risk you need to be aware of, it can be hold up or being discarded if custom officer decided to throughly check your package and finds out that it is a restricted item. But usually it does goes through the customs ok.

Also note that we wont be liable for any package being hold up or discard at custom, we are just suggesting the cheapest way you can send your samples in and also stating the risk you might encounter.

Q : When is the best time to take an oral sample from my dog or cat?

A : The best time to collect a sample is first thing in the morning, before feeding your dog. Food particles can contaminate the sample and make the results less accurate.


Q : Should i send the sample to AnimalBiome promptly after collection?

A : Yes, please return the sample promptly after collection, using the provided mailer bag.


Q : Do I need to discontinue supplements or medications before taking a salivia sample for analysis?

A : When possible, we recommend discontinuing antibiotics and probiotics at least 24 hours before taking a salivia sample for analysis.


Q : How do i resgister my sample?

A : Go to app.animalbiome.com to create an account, and complete your dog's or cat’s Pet Profile.

Select “Register Sample” at the top of the page. Enter the six-character ID code listed on the front of your instruction guide.

Please note that your sample must be registered in order for our scientists to complete the analysis.


Q : Where do I find my pet’s sample ID code?

A : The sample ID code can be found in two locations: first, it is printed on the sample tubes themselves.


What if my pet’s sample ID is not accepted?

If your pet’s sample ID is not accepted, first please double-check the ID code on the sample tube. If the ID is correct, please contact us so that we can identify the problem. Emailing us at team@animalbiome.com is generally the quickest way to get in touch.


Q : Is my sample safe in the mail?

A : Yes, your sample is safe. Once inside the tube, the sample is safe for several months.


Q : When will i receive my results?

A : You can expect to receive your results about 2-3 weeks after the sample arrives at our lab.


Q : Which package should i choose?

A : Here is some reasons that we are offering 2 different packages for your consideration.

  • Standard Package :

A : Yes you can, you just need to purchase our FedEx courier service as a add-on.

A : If you have three or more dogs or cats in your household, i recommend you to purchase the Single and/or Double kits in Standard package and purchase our FedEx courier service as an additional add-on. In this manner, you just need to pay for 1 (one) time shipping fee only instead of multiple Expedited packages. This will allow you to have savings.

Q : After receiving the result, how do i understand the report?

A : All the packages comes with a 15min results review with AnimalBiome team.

Q : When should i consider a Double test kit?

A : If you have multiple pets in your household, or you have a friend to share, this is when a Double (2) test kit will be best suitable for you as it will bring you some savings. However do note that the Expedited double kit only consist of 1 x FedEx courier, So if you are sharing with a friend, both the samples has to be sent together in that particular courier envelope.


Q : Do you recommend re-testing, and how often should it be done?

A : Since oral health may change due to time, over-exposure to medications, envrionment toxins exposure and more, depending what work you have put into repairing and maintaince of the oral health, it may prove beneficial to opt for another kit on a yearly basis. However if there isn't any much issues on-going you could do it every 2yrs instead just to monitor the oral health in general.


Q : How long does the process take from the day i place my order to the day i receive my results for the Standard package?

A : We are only able to show you an estimated overview on Singapore and International orders of the process up to the day you receive the kit from us. After which the timeline will be based on your chosen courier service and up to 21 working days results waiting period upon receiving your samples.

Q : Can i interpret the results myself without going through any review session?

A : We do not recommend on interpreting the results by yourself or by someone who is not trained to do so. The test results is more than what it seems and it will help you understand better with a trained consultant. Information from the results are meant to be very individual and a trained consultant will be able to advise more that what you are seeing.

Singapore Orders (Non-frozen items up to 3 working days via J&T Express Mon-Fri)

  • Non-frozen items could enjoy FREE delivery with orders $38 and above.
  • Non-frozen items will be delivered via J&T Express within 3 working days.
  • Please note that our delivery vendor will attempt to reach you at the contact number that you've submitted. If no one is present or uncontactable for further instructions, your package will be left at the riser, door, gate, or security. If other arrangements are preferred, please leave us a remark or contact us before your package is dispatched.

Singapore Orders (Frozen items scheduled delivery via Lalamove Sat-Sun)

  • This delivery option is not limited to just frozen items, however, if there are frozen items in the same order, it will be processed based on frozen item delivery.
  • Frozen items could enjoy FREE scheduled delivery (Sat-Sun) with orders $100 and above.
  • Orders cut-off time applicable for FREE scheduled delivery (Sat-Sun) is 6pm previous day.
  • Orders made by Fri 6pm will be delivered on Sat-Sun at your selected date and time slots.
  • Orders made by Sat 6pm will be delivered on Sun at your selected time slots.
  • Frozen items will be delivered via Lalamove at a schedule day and time slots. Scheduled days are Sat and Sun between 9-1pm, 1-5pm or 5-9pm time slots.
  • The 9-1pm, 1-5pm or 5-9pm time frame means the delivery will happen anytime between 9-1pm, 1-5pm or 5-9pm as per your selection upon checkout.
  • We highly recommend that you choose a date and time slot whereby you can be present to receive the parcel within this time frame.
  • Should you have difficulties being present, we can arrange for the driver to hang at your gate, however, our cooler packaging can only allow you to collect the package and store in the freezer latest by 2pm, 6pm or 10pm respectively.
  • Please note for frozen item delivery, our delivery vendor will attempt to reach you at the contact number that you've submitted.   • Frozen items could enjoy NEXT-DAY FREE delivery (Mon-Fri) with orders $134 and above.
  • Orders cut-off time applicable for NEXT-DAY FREE delivery (Mon-Fri) is 6PM previous day.
  • Orders made by Sun 6pm will be delivered at your selected date Mon-Fri 4pm-8pm.
  • Orders made by Thurs 6pm will be delivered on Fri 4pm-8pm.
  • Frozen items will be delivered via Grab Express the same day anytime between 4pm-8pm, or you may choose another delivery date between Mon to Fri 4pm-8pm time frame.
  • The 4-8pm time frame means the delivery will happen anytime between 4-8pm.
  • We highly recommend that you choose a date whereby you can be present to receive the parcel within this time frame.

Return Policy

Generally, all our products are strictly non-refundable nor exchangeable.

However, in the event you received an incorrect or defective item, or any other valid reason that you can't enjoy your purchase, we will provide a refund or an exchange, case by case basis.

All we ask is that when the item is returned, it should meet the following requirements:

  • Reach out to us to arrange an appointment to drop off your item at 80 Changi Road, Centropod@Changi #02-48, Singapore 419715.
  • Item returned should be in their original & sealed packaging. Broken seals will not be accepted, unless there's a valid reason, based on case by case basis.
  • Please ensure at least 6 months of shelf life if it's a perishable item.
  • Send us your order confirmation email for refund verification.

Items not eligible for returns:

  • Food related, wearables, beds and carriers due to food safety & hygiene reasons.
  • Items that are purchased from promotional pricing from all of our sales channels.
  • Customers who had a history of returning more than 3 items.

When we receive the refunded/exchange item, we will review the condition of the item, and reach out to you to confirm and issue a refund/exchange within 7 working days. We regret that customers who decline to respect our policy will be ineligible for exchange, returns and refunds.

Do also note that if we find that a product has been intentionally damaged or tampered with, refunds will not be offered.
